Discipleship –
Humility of Jesus
This the second sermon in our series on DISCIPLESHIP
DISCIPLESHIP is sharing the Love of GOD with the whole world Every day of our life not just on Sunday morning!
Phil 2:6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to
his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a
man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
1.
Should not always use
our human advantages.
2.
Make ourselves as
nothing.
3.
Servant like attitude.
4.
Laying down our lives
for another.
Luke 9:
23-24 Then he said to the
crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must
give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to
hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my
sake, you will save it.
- Our
cross daily – make it more than “911”
- Give
up your life for someone – not family!
John 13:38 Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay
down your life for me? Very truly I tell you, before the
rooster crows, you will disown me three times!
John 5:19 19 So
Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do
nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the
Father does, the Son also does.
John 5:41-43 41 “Your approval means nothing to me, 42 because I know you don’t have God’s love within you. 43 For I have come
to you in my Father’s name, and you have rejected me. Yet if others come in
their own name, you gladly welcome them.
