Sermon: “Christmas Story Part 2”
Pastor Kim Wenzel
Rejection and Acceptance - The Great Love Story
Jesus was rejected by so many people and to this day he is still
rejected by so many!!
Do we appreciate what Jesus did for us and all mankind?
Pastor Kim told a story about himself getting home from the Ski Lodge.
What Jesus did for us!
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:16-20 NLT
16 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 Teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Footnotes
e. Matthew 2819
f. Matthew 28:20
Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT
5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,
“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.”
6 So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”

c. 13:6 Psalms 118:6
John 15:9-17 NLT
9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I
no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his
slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the
Father told me. 16 You
didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce
lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for,
using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
Pastor Kim's closing story: New Birth in Bethlehem
Luke 2:8-20 NLT
The Shepherds and Angels
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
15 When
the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other,
“Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which
the Lord has told us about.”
16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20 The
shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for
all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
Today's Verse
Titus 3:3-7
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
