Sermon: “Fish Out of Water”
Pastor Kim Wenzel
As Charles Spurgeon said,
"Living without Serving God Is Like Being a Fish Out of Water"
Man does exist without God, and we may not venture to call that existence “life.”
If he lives in pleasure, yet he is dead while he lives, He must develop a relationship with God and live according to God's divine plan.
John 3:36
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
Read the whole chapter, Matthew 10 the tough truth chapter!
Matthew 10:32-33 (NIV)
33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. 34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:32-33 (The Message)
32-33 “Stand
up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my
Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I’ll cover for
you?
Fish need water, Polar Bear needs cold weather, Camel needs the desert, and humans need God to live life happily!
1 Peter 3:13-18 (The Message)
13-18 If
with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped?
Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the
opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at
attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak
up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and
always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so
that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up
realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath. It’s better to
suffer for doing good, if that’s what God wants, than to be punished for
doing bad. That’s what Christ did definitively: suffered because of
others’ sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went
through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God.
Today's Verse
Psalm 103:11-12
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love to-ward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
