The Sermon today was Murder an Issue of the Heart and Mind
Murder is the self-centeredness of passionate carnality, a premeditation (intent).
To Kill is what a Soldier does protecting his Country or a Policeman protecting his fellow man, that is the difference between Murder and to Kill.
Cain's sin manifested itself in a sullen, selfish hatred that ended up in murder.
Ex, 20:13 “You shall not murder.
Numbers 35:16 “‘If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with an iron object, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.”
Numbers 35:17 Or if anyone is holding a stone and strikes someone a fatal blow with it, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.
Matt 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
Matt 5:21-22 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b][c] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’“one who brings forth an evil name” is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Romans 1:29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips.
