 (The Via Dolorosa is a street within the Old City of Jerusalem, believed to be the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion.) (Latin: "Way of Grief," "Way of Sorrow," "Way of Suffering" or simply "Painful Way)

 Jesus On The Cross 

 Matthew 27:46 NLT

⁴⁶ At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,^[j] lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”^[k]

-Disciples - feel abandoned and betrayed at Jesus arrest

Luke 22:31  NLT

³¹ “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. ³² But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”

Learning to cope when the warm feelings disappear.

-Accept Jesus as Lord and everything will be all right - cruel half-truth, We must pray and walk to please GOD!

Hebrews 5:7-10 NLT

⁷ While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God. ⁸ Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. ⁹ In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. ¹⁰ And God designated him to be a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
