About the Church

Welcome to the new website for Faith Church of Grove, OK! My hope is that through this web site that God would be glorified. The church is God’s messenger on earth to spread the gospel of Christ. We invite you to come and worship with us each Sunday. For we are a community church where the whole gospel is preached in kindness and love. You matter to God and you matter to us.

Christian Meditation 2

Review: Luke 5:16  Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. As Paul also did.
Meditation must come from the heart!
 Psalm 19:14 (NASB)
14  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

  Psalm 49:3 (NASB)
3  My mouth will speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.

 Psalm 104:34 (NASB)
34  Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the LORD.

Kinds of Meditation
Surface Conscientiousness – Every day ho-hum (Meditation about every day things)

Deep Conscientiousness -  Deep and heartfelt. Thoughts and conversation with Father/Son  led by the Holy Spirit. Deeper – takes time. Requires thought on a more profound level. Try to block all outside interference and maintain a direct line with the Father

Meditation/Prayer (A time for complete silence)

Airline pilot and Major surgery – not so funny w/surface conscientiousness.

Pacific Ocean – Most people are ankle deep in Christianity

How do we go DEEP?

Jesus prayed often – How often for us?  I suggest 2 or 3 times a week.
                        - not at a rushed time

Withdrew – time and location – away from the daily routine.
-          separate from the norm – not usual prayer location
-          a quiet place – ear plugs

Set-up -  Where you can stay for a good period of time.
-          table perhaps, Bible, maybe a cross, maybe a candle
-          ear plugs, table, hard chair to stay awake.

Before Starting – No rush situation
-          Not hungry
-          Go to the bathroom
-          Settle yourself, think positive
-          Start with prayer and perhaps Bible reading
-          Then invite God to speak to you in any form
-          Listen with infinite patience

 Matthew 11:14-15
14  "And if you are willing to accept what I say, he is Elijah, the one the prophets said would come.
15  "Anyone with ears to hear, should listen and understand!

Today's Verse

Ecclesiastes 5:15
"Naked a man comes from his mother's womb, and as he comes, so he departs. He takes nothing from his labor that he can carry in his hand."

Old Satan and I
O’ What can I do, what can I say
To keep old Satan the devil away?
He is within me there is no doubt
And try as I may I can’t kick him out.
He is so subtle, he is so slick
He always can turn his tricks.
The harder I fight to put him to flight
The more cunning he is sure to be.
And just like a man I fall for his plan
And why I should do so I can hardly see,
And it is a fact when I follow his tact
He throws his gaff deep into me.
And when this he has done he thinks it great fun
And rears back and laughs with great glee.
O’ wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from this gloom? I thank our Lord through Jesus Christ,
Who arose triumphant from the tomb.

This is the first in a 3 part series

Christian Meditation 1

Luke 5:13-16     13  Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Psalms 19:14  May these words of my mouth and this Meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalms 49:3  I will speak words of wisdom; the Meditation of my heart will give you understanding.

Psalms 104:34  May my Meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.

Try to block all outside interference and maintain a direct line with the Father!

Today's Verse
Titus 3:9-11
9-"But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. 10- After that, have nothing to do with him. 11-You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned."

Child of Faith
While here on earth our Savior said
Suffer little children to come unto me,
For of such is the kingdom of heaven,
And to enter there you must like them be.
You must have faith as a child
Implicit trust beyond degree
You must accept him as the way, the truth
Before his kingdom you can see.
A little child has no doubt
About its Mothers tender care
He has no fear of any thing
So long as his Mother is there.
O! give me the faith of a little child
The humility of his soul,
O! Give me the trust of his little heart
And I will safely reach my heavenly

 Sermon

 Total Victory by Jesus

 Pastor Kim's sermon notes
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

The Judgment of the Dead

 Revelation 20:11-15
11
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:3-4
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

The Crucified Saviour
Death held his scepter o’er the son of God
While around the tomb those guards trod. The spirits in glory waited in suspense Anxious to behold the great event.
The morning star at length did rise Its shining rays piercing the skies. Soon the night would be withdrawn Soon the light of the third day dawn. All of a sudden the earth did tremble and quake
And the posers of Heaven began to shake. An angel from heaven did descend The guards fell prostrate as dead men. His countenance was as bright as the lightning flash, his raiment as white as snow. He broke the seal with a mighty crash and rolled the stone from before the door.
But who is this that cometh forth with raiments all stained with blood , and in his appearance most glorious. It is the mighty Son of God.
Dear Christian friends it is our Lord. He has trodden the wine press all alone. He has dyed his garments with his blood. He meets his resurrection morn. He arose a conqueror from the grave, returns with blessings from the spirit world. He brings salvation to the children of men and all who believe He will save.
Dear Saviour fill up the blotted sketch which I have drawn of life divine with the fullness of thy perfect love and I will be forever thin.

Today's Verse
Mark 14:60-65
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?"
62 "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
63 The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. 64 "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?"They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.

I DREAMED
I dreamed death came the other night
And heaven’s gate swung wide.
With kindly grace and angel
Ushered me inside.
And there to my astonishment
Stood folks I’d known on earth,
Some I’d judged and labeled
Unfit, of little worth.
Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free—
For every face showed stunned surprise,
Not one expected me!

Sermon: “Lamb of God” Pastor Kim Wenzel

Palm Sunday -- Hosanna To The King!!

Pastor Kim's sermon notes

The LORD sent Nathan to David so he would Repent!

  2 Samuel 12:1-23 (NASB)
1  Then the LORD sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said, "There were two men in one city, the one rich and the other poor.
2  "The rich man had a great many flocks and herds.
3  "But the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb Which he bought and nourished; And it grew up together with him and his children. It would eat of his bread and drink of his cup and lie in his bosom, And was like a daughter to him.
4  "Now a traveler came to the rich man, And he was unwilling to take from his own flock or his own herd, To prepare for the wayfarer who had come to him; Rather he took the poor man's ewe lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him."
5  Then David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die.
6  "He must make restitution for the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no compassion."
7  Nathan then said to David, "You are the man! Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'It is I who anointed you king over Israel and it is I who delivered you from the hand of Saul.
8  'I also gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your care, and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added to you many more things like these!
9  'Why have you despised the word of the LORD by doing evil in His sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword, have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the sons of Ammon.
10  'Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.'
11  "Thus says the LORD, 'Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.
12  'Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under the sun.'"
13  Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has taken away your sin; you shall not die.
14  "However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die."

The Loss Of A Child
15  So Nathan went to his house. Then the LORD struck the child that Uriah's widow bore to David, so that he was very sick.
16  David therefore inquired of God for the child; and David fasted and went and lay all night on the ground.
17  The elders of his household stood beside him in order to raise him up from the ground, but he was unwilling and would not eat food with them.
18  Then it happened on the seventh day that the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, "Behold, while the child was still alive, we spoke to him and he did not listen to our voice. How then can we tell him that the child is dead, since he might do himself harm!"
19  But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; so David said to his servants, "Is the child dead?" And they said, "He is dead."
20  So David arose from the ground, washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he came into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he came to his own house, and when he requested, they set food before him and he ate.
21  Then his servants said to him, "What is this thing that you have done? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept; but when the child died, you arose and ate food."
22  He said, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, 'Who knows, the LORD may be gracious to me, that the child may live.'
23  "But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

never pass away."

Sermon - Repentance 2

Pastor Kim's sermon notes

Matthew 4:17  From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

 Zechariah 1:1-6
1
In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah, the son of Iddo:
“The Lord was very angry with your ancestors. Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty. Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever? But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors?
“Then they repented and said, ‘The Lord Almighty has done to us what our ways and practices deserve, just as he determined to do.’”

Proverbs 22:4  Humility is the fear of the Lord;
its wages are riches and honor and life.

Isaiah 59:20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.

Isaiah 30:15  This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.

 Today's Verse…
1 Corinthians 14:20

"Brothers, stop

thinking like
children. In
regard to evil be
infants, but in
your thinking be
adults."

Sermon - Repentance
Pastor Kim's sermon notes

2 Corinthians 7:1-11  Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Paul’s Joy Over the Church’s Repentance

Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one. I do not say this to condemn you; I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts that we would live or die with you. I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.
For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.
Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

 NASB Text
 2 Corinthians 7:1-16 (NASB)
1  Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2  Make room for us in your hearts; we wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we took advantage of no one.
3  I do not speak to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together.
4  Great is my confidence in you; great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.
5  For even when we came into Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within.
6  But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7  and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced even more.
8  For though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while—
9  I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us.
10  For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
11  For behold what earnestness this very thing, this godly sorrow, has produced in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.
12  So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the offender nor for the sake of the one offended, but that your earnestness on our behalf might be made known to you in the sight of God.
13  For this reason we have been comforted. And besides our comfort, we rejoiced even much more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.
14  For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I was not put to shame; but as we spoke all things to you in truth, so also our boasting before Titus proved to be the truth.
15  His affection abounds all the more toward you, as he remembers the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling.
16  I rejoice that in everything I have confidence in you.

Today's Verse…
Proverbs 3:3-4
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."
