About the Church

Welcome to the new website for Faith Church of Grove, OK! My hope is that through this web site that God would be glorified. The church is God’s messenger on earth to spread the gospel of Christ. We invite you to come and worship with us each Sunday. For we are a community church where the whole gospel is preached in kindness and love. You matter to God and you matter to us.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

More From Our Series on Forgiveness

(We must remember that Unforgiveness is EVIL)
We Must Forgive So We Are Forgiven!
Famous Quotes
'When you hold resentment toward another, You are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.' - Katherine Ponder

"Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time-just like it does for you and me."- Sara Paddison

"Forgiveness is the giving, and so the receiving, of life." - George MacDonald

"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you." - Louis B. Smedes

"We are all on a life long journey and the core of it’s meaning, the terrible demand of its centrality is forgiving and being forgiven." - Martha Kilpatrick

"Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar Wilde

"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." - Mahatma Gandhi

"Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future." - Paul Boese

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." - William Blake

"He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass." - George Herbert

"Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.”-Louis B. Smedes

A Prayer Claiming our Freedom in Jesus -Here is an Example
Father in heaven, it is in the powerful name of Jesus I come before you now, in deep repentance. I have found myself caught up in (name whatever yoke of bondage - bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment, spirit of revenge, hatred, victimization, fear, worry, anxiety, doubt, insecurity, abandonment, self-hatred, guilt, shame, etc), and I desire to ask for your forgiveness and the restoration of my freedom in Jesus.
Thank you, Father for the redeeming work of Jesus on the cross to set us free. We appreciate being washed by the blood of Jesus more than words can express. To be forgiven and live in the total freedom we have in Jesus with all eternity ahead of us is the greatest gift of all. So I come to you, Father, and repent of slipping out of my complete freedom into some foolish trap Satan may have set for me. In Jesus name I bind all the influence of Satan upon my mind, heart and spirit.
Father I recall scriptures like 1 John 3: 1 and Romans 8: 16-17 where I am called a child of God. In the name of Jesus I claim the full freedom you give to your children. I ask that all yokes of slavery be broken in my life and help me get back to living fully in the new mind, heart and healed spirit of the Kingdom. Father, help me to walk in life and give life away all to the glory of Jesus and yourself, Father! In my Lord Jesus' name I thank you, AMEN!

Sermon : “Forgiveness Pt 4-Tools of God”
      Pastor Kim Wenzel
Kingdom of Relationships

Mathew 18:21
Parable of the Unforgiving Debtor

21 Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone[i] who sins against me? Seven times?”(Human Nature)
22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven![j]
23 “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. 24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars.[k] 25 He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt. (Impossible)
26 “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ 27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, (Divine Nature) and he released him and forgave his debt. (Grace)
28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars.[l] He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment. (Hatred)
29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.
31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, "You evil servant! (We must remember that Unforgivenesss is EVIL) I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.
35 “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters[m] from your heart.”

Footnotes
i- 18:21 Greek my brother.

Today's Verse
Psalm 139:23-24
Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about; See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong, then guide me on the road to eternal life.

How to Grow in your Relationship with GOD!
PRAY DAILY: Talking with God is very important in order to keep your communication open with Him. Please go to our pages on prayer to learn more about how to pray and what God says about prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
READ GOD’S WORD DAILY: As a new believer, you probably should start in the Gospel of John and Romans, from the New Testament, and the book of Psalm, from the Old Testament. There are also many great websites with devotionals (you can start with this one) and sermons. In addition, you can go to a Christian bookstore for Bible studies and devotional books that have daily readings. Make reading, studying and memorizing scripture a priority in your life. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
