About the Church

Welcome to the new website for Faith Church of Grove, OK! My hope is that through this web site that God would be glorified. The church is God’s messenger on earth to spread the gospel of Christ. We invite you to come and worship with us each Sunday. For we are a community church where the whole gospel is preached in kindness and love. You matter to God and you matter to us.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Sunday October 16 2016

The sermon was "Another Uplifting Story"

Telling your Story - Faith Hope Love

Pastor Kim told us of his inspiring story about his Family in Canada .

We need to tell our story of Jesus love for us starting with - Faith Hope Love.

 Pastor Kim's Sermon outline.

 1 Corinthians 13:11-13

 11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but the we will see everything with perfect clarity. 13 All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. 13 Three things will last forever - Faith Hope Love - and the greatest of these is Love.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (NASB)
1  If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2  If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3  And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4  Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5  does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6  does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8  Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9  For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10  but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
11  When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12  For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
13  But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

The Samaritan Woman at the well had a wonderful story to tell an she did, Love, Rejection, and Abuse. What a Super Counselor she was!

Zacchaeus - Great negative and positive stories - Faith, Acceptance by Father in Heaven!

Zacchaeus was a chief tax-collector at Jericho, mentioned only in the Gospel of Luke. A descendant of Abraham, he was an example of Jesus' personal, earthly mission to bring Salvation to the lost!

Blind Bartimaeus - Faith, Hope in the Son of David.

Each of the three Synoptic Gospels tells of Jesus healing the blind near Jericho, as he passed through that town, shortly before his passion. The Gospel of Mark tells of the cure of a man named Bartimaeus healed by Jesus as he is leaving Jericho.

1. Pray and ask Father to give you story ideas for Faith Hope Love. Ask him to bring your experiences into remembrance.
2. Think about telling those stories in different ways, Humorous, Frightening, Serious, and Encouraging, etc. What does this story lend itself to and how it Glorifies Jesus!!
3. Think how you would tell your story in different time frames.

Sometimes we have different time frames to tell our story in.
A. One or two sentences.
B. 10 to 15 sentences.
C. You may have time for that Epic Tale that Glorifies Jesus!!

Romans 12:2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Romans 12:1-21 (NASB) 1  Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
3  For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
4  For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,
5  so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
6  Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
7  if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;
8  or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
9  Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
10  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
11  not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12  rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
13  contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
14  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15  Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16  Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
17  Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
19  Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written,
"VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.
20  "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD."
21
 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Pray for our church members to be able to reach out and touch people with God's message and encourage them to come to Faith Church!
